Keeping the cold out

Now that winter has finally set in here in South Carolina the tile floor in our kitchen has become unbearably cold.  The problem is that there is no insulation under the floor also there were two large openings in the foundation that just had lattice covering them.  This allowed cold air to blow under the kitchen and out the other side.

I opted to use some sheets of foam insulation to cover the openings and reduce the amount of air flow under the house.  We do plan on adding insulation between the floor joist as a longer term fix for the cold floors but this has all ready made a huge improvement in the kitchen.
